Robert is the Principal Podiatrist and founder of Footsmart Podiatry. He began practising on the Sunshine Coast in 1992 before travelling overseas in 1995. When he returned, he established Footsmart Podiatry as a single-clinician practice in Nambour.
Today, Footsmart Podiatry has grown into one of the Sunshine Coast’s leading podiatry practices. With clinics across the region and a team of experienced podiatrists, Robert remains committed to delivering exceptional care to the local community.
Expertise in Orthopaedics and Biomechanics
Robert has developed extensive expertise in orthopaedic assessment and the management of complex foot and lower limb conditions. He has a special interest in sports podiatry, lower limb biomechanics, computerised gait analysis, and custom orthotic therapy.
He enjoys identifying the underlying cause of pain before creating a personalised treatment plan. His evidence-based approach helps patients recover from injury, improve movement, and achieve long-term results.

Working Alongside Orthopaedic Specialists
Robert also consults with patients through the Sunshine Coast Centre for Orthopaedics (SCCO). He works closely with orthopaedic specialists to provide conservative management for complex foot and ankle conditions.
This collaborative approach gives patients access to comprehensive care and ensures they receive the most appropriate treatment for their condition.
Robert is an accredited member of the Australian Podiatry Association and an active member of Sports Medicine Australia. He also holds Level 1 Accreditation in Baropodometric and Postural Assessment and CAD/CAM orthotic design.
Living the Sunshine Coast Lifestyle
Robert understands the importance of staying active. Before becoming a podiatrist, he played premier grade and representative rugby union in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast.
Today, he enjoys running, surfing, fishing, skiing, and playing golf. When he’s not at work, he spends time with his wife, two children, and their two Labrador dogs.
