Preparing for your Appointment

What do I need to bring?

If this is your first visit with us, you are coming in for an orthotic assessment or a fitting, please bring the following:

– 2 to 3 of your most worn footwear
– Any orthotics or devices from previous podiatrists or specialist
– All relevant reports and paper work such as referrals or x-rays

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral however if you have one please bring it along. The exception to this is if you’re eligible for a EPC or DVA plan.

If you qualify for the CDM program (chronic disease management) in which Medicare will rebate part of your consult then you will need to have seen your doctor previously and been given the CDM referral form.

Similarly, if you have a Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) card, you will also need to obtain a current D904 form from your GP.

What do I wear?

A good rule of thumb is to wear similar clothes to what you would wear on a morning walk, or to the gym. It is important for your podiatrist to be able to see more than just your feet when conducting an assessment. An exception to this is for an ingrown toe-nail or treatment of a corn.

Also, bring along shoes for evaluation. The shoes your Podiatrist need to assess are the ones you spend most of your time in, along with any specialised footwear you wear for sport, walking or running.

How much time should I allow?

How much time you spend with us will depend on the type of appointment you are booked in for:

– For your first appointment with us please allow up to 40 minutes
– Subsequent general appointments may take only 20 minutes to complete, however this time does vary depending on your needs.
– Orthotic assessments take 1 hour and your follow up fitting appointment should only take 20 minutes

We do offer a wide range of other services that may require longer. If your appointment type is not listed above and you would like to know how long your appointment will take it is best to call us on 5441 4822

Is Car Parking available?

All three of our clinics have private, off road car parks that are easily accessible.

Of particular note is our Nambour clinic. Situated opposite Nambour General Hospital, in an area notorious for parking difficulty, we have ample parking.
Drive into our driveway on Mapleton Road and you will find plenty of parking at the rear of the building
